Casey and Karol met on 10.01.23 after both had nearly lost hope at finding their ideal match. Upon meeting, both Casey and Karol maintained their guards while getting to know each other. Karol was drawn to Casey’s big smile and zany personality. Karol will say that Casey often put him on his back foot when they first met. Casey was drawn to Karol’s blue eyes, stories about his travels, and killer skills in the kitchen. Everything felt too good to be true.

At the end of October in 2023, Karol told Casey how much he cared for her, and she responded with a willingness to be vulnerable. With that conversation, the two began to intertwine their lives. Casey introduced Karol to her family and showed him her favorite places, like Wrightsville Beach, where she lived while attending UNCW. As they walked along the beach in the twilight, sharing their hopes and dreams, Karol stumbled upon a large perfectly shaped conch shell. Casey quickly grabbed the shell and held it to the moonlight, proclaiming the shell brought them together and whoever held the shell could speak their mind freely. Karol smiled, always appreciating her quick wit. The two agreed to always let each other be themselves, which wound up bringing out the best in each other.

After a few months, it was clear that the two complimented each other well, we’re aligned in how they wanted to spend their lives together, and desire start a family. They loved exploring different cities, restaurants, chasing the summer, and spending time with each others families.

After one year of dating, Karol proposed to Casey on Wrightsville beach in front of their parents and siblings. Overwhelmed with joy and unwilling to waste precious time, the two decided to plan a wedding in just 12 weeks.
